Pre-project planning of Taman-based terminal for transshipment of Kuzbass coal to be completed by August 1, 2013
Pre-project planning of a terminal for export transshipment of Kuzbass coal in the new dry cargo district of port Taman (Krasnodar Territory) is expected to be completed by August 1, 2013, IAA PortNews learnt from Managing Port Company LLC which has a long-lasting experience of handling Kuzbassrazrezugol products in port Vostochny (Primorsk Territory).
According to the agreement signed with RMP-Taman LLC (managing company of the new dry cargo district of port Taman) on May 27, 2013, pre-project planning will be carried out for two throughput scenarios of the future coal terminal - 5 mln t per year and 10 mln t per year.
The new dry cargo district of port Taman will be built at Taman peninsula (Krasnodar Territory) through the private-public partnership (PPP). The port will be integrated into the system of the North-South international transport corridor. Federal Target Program "Development of Transport System of Russia, 2010 – 2015" is the background for the construction.
As IAA PortNews reported earlier, futer investors of Taman are MetalloInvest LLC, Basic Element Group, Global Ports Investments PLC, Eurochem OJSC, UCL Port B.V., United Grain Company PJSC, SUEK OJSC, NCC and Gazprom Export.
By 2020, new dry cargo district of port Taman is to handle 93.8 mln t of cargo.
