Transportation Assets Management LLC eyes construction of 20 vessels at Okskaya Sudoverf
Transportation Assets Management LLC (Universal Cargo Logistics Holding) is eyeing the placement of an order for the construction of 20 vessels of Project RST-54 at Okskaya Sudoverf OJSC (Nizhni Novgorod region, Universal Cargo Logistics Holding), IAA PortNews learnt from Rishat Bagautdinov, Director for Shipbuilding and Navigation Operations of Transport Assets Management LLC.
According to him, the customer expects to take the delivery of first five vessels in 2014 with the series to be possibly completed in 2016.
Experts say, this contract may be valued at about $300 mln.
Project RST-54 developed by Marine Engineering Bureau is s combined platform ship / tanker of 5,500-dwt of М-PR RRR class intended for transportation of break stone and other general and dry bulk cargo, 20-feet and 40-feet containers, metal, timber, coal, oversized and heavy-lift cargoes as well as crude and oil products. The project does not provide for simultaneous liquid bulk cargo and open deck cargo transportation.
