VSC handles Maersk’s new Triple-E huge boxship (photo release)
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC) appeared to be the first port of call for the brand new containership of Maersk Line – the Triple-E Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, the VSC press service said.
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller docked at the VSC terminal on July 6, 2013 for loading. Then the huge containership proceeded on the loop service: Busan Kwangyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Suez Canal, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Gdansk, Aarhus, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Port Tangier, Suez Canal, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, Busan.
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller built at DSME yard in Okpo, is now the world's largest container ship with a capacity of 18,340 TEUs. The ship length is 399 m, beam - 59 m, height - 73 m.
On June 18 following the successful two-week sea trials the newbuild was delivered to the owner. The ship was named Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller.
Currently, Vostochnaya (Eastern) Stevedoring Company is the only Russian stevedore certified to handle this class vessels.
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC is the largest container terminal in Russia’s Far East. It operates on the territory of Vostochny Port. VSC is part of Global Ports Group. The terminal’s total capacity is 550,000 TEUs.
