Development of Russian ports hindered by stevedore’s reluctance to transfer land for checkpoints – Igor Levitin
The development of Russian ports is hindered by the problems related to the transfer of land plots owned by stevedoring companies to Russian Border Services Agency (Rosgranitsa) for the establishment of marine checkpoints, IAA PortNews journalist cites Igor Levitin, presidential adviser and Ex-Minister of Transport, as saying at the joint meeting of the Board and the Public Council of Rosmorrechflot.
Igor Levitin believes that allocation of budgetary funds supposed to make RUB 150 bln till 2018 will prove to be inefficient to solve this issue.
According to the comment of Serik Zhusupov, Executive Director of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports, one of the problems with checkpoints is that their designing should be carried out parallel to the designing of port infrastructure facilities.
In the opinion of Igor Levitin, this issue can be only solved through adequate agreements with Rosgranitsa.
