Canon Europe to consolidate warehouse operations in Rotterdam
Canon Europe is to consolidate its central warehouse operations for Western Europe in the Maasvlakte area of Rotterdam, as part of a comprehensive review of Canon’s supply chain network to optimise efficiency in anticipation of future business requirements. As a result of a tender, Nippon Express has been appointed as the logistics service provider for the new central warehouse operation, said in the media release.
The new consolidated warehouse will become operational in the second half of 2015, following a phased transition of the current warehouse operations in Amstelveen, Rotterdam and Schiphol-Rijk to the new location. The spare parts operation in Schiphol-Rijk will not be affected by this change. Canon will work closely with Nippon Express to ensure smooth implementation of this transition and to maintain on-going product availability and customer service.
