Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port up 20.1% to 2.2 mln t in HI’13
In January-June 2013, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 2,214,700 tonnes of cargo (+20.1%, year-on-year), the company states.
In the accounting period, cargo export gained 5.4% to 1,349,700 tonnes including 757,400 tonnes of ferrous metal (+7.5%), 122,900 tonnes of coal and coke (+71.6%), 222,400 tonnes of oil products (+3.9%), 62,300 tonnes of scrap metal (-32.8%), 66,200 tonnes of other general cargo (-23.7%), 35,300 tonnes of containerized cargo (down 1.8 times).
Transshipment of import cargo was up 54% to 859,900 tonnes including 592,600 tonnes of dry bulk cargo (up 3.7 times), 30,900 tonnes of general cargo (-12.4%), 221,600 tonnes of containerized cargo (-33.2%).
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2012, the port’s throughput fell by 3.31%, year-on-year, to 3.31 mln tonnes.
