Export of Russian oil via Kozmino terminal up 37.6% to 10.6 mln t in HI’13
In the 6-month period, the volume of Russian oil exported via the terminal of Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (port Vostochny) surged by 37.6%, year-on-year, to 10.6 mln t, the company’s press center says.
1.6 to 1.9 mln t of ESPO oil was transshipped via the end point of ESPO Oil Pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean) every month. In the first half of 2013, Japan traditionally held the leading position among the countries of destination for tanker batches – some 35.5% of oil (3.8 mln t) was shipped there. China is the second – 23.6 % (2.5 mln t). In June China raised the share of imported oil to 41%. The third is S. Korea accounting for 11.4 % (1.2 mln t). Then comes Philippines - (8.3%), Singapore (6%), USA (5.7%), Malaysia (4.5%), Thailand (2.3%), New Zealand (1%), Taiwan (0.9%) and Indonesia (0.8%). It should be noted that 100,000-tonne batch of this high quality oil was shipped to New Zealand from Kozmino port for the first time this June.
In January-June, 9.1 mln t of oil was delivered to Spetsmornefteport Kozmino by the trunk pipeline and 1.5 mln t of oil – by railway from Skovorodino.
In July, 1.9 mln t of oil is expected to be shipped for export from Spetsmornefteport Kozmino (1.65 mln t is to come by ESPO-II pipeline with the rest 250,000 tonnes to come by railway).
Specialized Oil Loading Sea Port Kozmino is the terminus of the ESPO Oil Pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean) in Nakhodka, Primorsk territory. It is intended for transshipment of oil delivered by trunk pipeline ESPO-II and by Far East railway to sea-going tankers. The capacity of the terminal’s first stage was 15 million tonnes of crude oil (ESPO brand) a year. With the launch of the second stage (December 25, 2012) the capacity was expanded to 30 mln t. In February 2013, port Kozmino shipped the 50 millionth tonne of oil (from the moment it was commissioned in late 2009). In 2012, oil export via Kozmino terminal reached 16.23 mln t (+7.2%, year-on-year).
