Ukrelevatorprom in Odessa port accepts first tonnes of grain
PJSC "Ukrelevatorprom" is one of the largest grain elevators operating in the port of Odessa. The elevator began accepting the first batches of barley, rape and wheat of the new harvest starting from 20 June, says press center of Odessa Port Authority. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Operations Oleg Andriyenko. By the results of the last marketing year (July 2012-June 2013) the workers of “Ukrelevatorprom” "together with a team of stevedoring company "Brooklyn-Kiev" processed and shipped for export about 2.1 million tonnes of grain. Corn dominated among other crops and totaled 808 thousand tonnes.
According to Andrienko, despite the fact that results of this marketing year are lower than the previous one (2011-2012 MY - 2 mln.325 thousand tonnes), in 2012 calendar year through the "Ukrelevatorprom" were processed more than 2.5 million tonnes of grain. This was the highest performance of activity of the company for 10 years.
The last ship with last year's grainis the m/v ROYAL PERCADORES (17,5 thousand tonnes of wheat) was handled on June 14. And literally from the next day the preventive works on the elevator have started and may be finished on July 15. In parallel with the preparation of the technical base acceptance of grain from trucks is in progress.
