BMT appoints flood modelling expert in London
Mat RobertsAs part of its endeavour to offer specialist services to a wider customer base in the UK, BMT WBM (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, has appointed Dr Matthew Roberts to lead a new flooding and environmental modelling team, to be based in its London City office, said in the company's press release.
Tony McAlister, Managing Director of BMT WBM comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Matthew and look forward to working with him to expand our service offering in the UK market. Drawing on the collective skills and wealth of knowledge which is available within the BMT group of companies, Matthew and his team will focus on demonstrating our expertise in the niche market areas of flooding, surface water and environment modelling with a focus on computational fluid dynamics.”
Previously at Capita Symonds, Matthew has provided technical expertise on numerous UK and international projects for private and public sector clients, ranging from detailed site specific Flood Risk Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments, through to broad scale Strategic Catchment Flood Management works. Matthew has also undertaken a number of computational fluid dynamics investigations, which have built on his Ph.D. and other academic research projects.
Commenting on his new role, Matthew says: “This is an exciting time and I’m looking forward to increasing BMT’s profile in the UK market, as a specialist service provider of technical services in the water and environment field.”
Matthew will be part of the application team for BMT’s TUFLOW software products, which are widely used in the UK.
