Moscow Shipyard launches buoy tender of Project 3050 (photo release)
OJSC Moscow Shipbuilding & Ship Repair Yard (Moscow Shipyard) on June 20 launched the buoy tender of Project 3050 RRR Class “R 1.2" (hull number 214), being constructed under the fleet upgrade program for the Federal Basin Authority “The White Sea-Onega Basin Department of Inland Waterways and Shipping”, the shipbuilding firm said.
A package of 27 modern buoy tenders ordered by the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport for companies serving the country's inland waterways.
The project vessels are designed to install buoys, navigational markers and control depths of the shipping channels on all Russian rivers.
The company said it had secured 3/4 of all contracts for buoy tenders (Projects 3050, 3052 and 3050.1).
In 2012, Moscow Shipyard delivered 8 boats of Project 3050, on time and on budget.
Overall, the shipbuilding company was contracted to build and deliver 46 buoy tenders between 2012 and 2015.
JSC Moscow Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard Moscow Shipyard, part of United Shipbuilding Corp.) is one of Russia's oldest shipyards founded in 1936. Throughout the years the shipyard has built more than 1,800 vessels with a total overall length of more than 52,000 meters. The firm specializes in building of river passenger vessels, fishing boats and 25-m / 50-m-long luxury yachts.
In 2002, the shipbuilding company successfully passed the certification of quality management system according to ISO 9001. In September 2011, the shipyard commenced the construction of high-speed multi-purpose boats MRV14 for Russian ports. Since 2011 the company has been building a series of 27 buoy tenders of Project 3050 and 12 tenders of Project 3050.1 intended for maintenance of ATONs on Russian waterways, and for monitoring the channels depth in all the rivers of Russia. Since mid-2012, Moscow Shipyard has been engaged in the construction of boats for the Russian Navy.
