MacGregor offshore cranes deliver flexible load-handling for four new accommodation vessels
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract that will see eight cranes fitted on board a new series of four compact semi-submersible (CSS) offshore accommodation vessels for Marine Assets Corporation (MAC). Each vessel, under construction at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd. in China, will feature a 60-tonne and a 12-tonne offshore MacGregor crane. Crane deliveries are scheduled to begin in August 2014 and finish by the end of February 2015, said in the company's press release.
"MAC's new CSS accommodation vessels have been specifically designed to respond to the market's need for cost-effective and flexible accommodation and offshore support vessels," explains Frode Grøvan, Sales and Marketing Director for MacGregor Advanced Load Handling. "The proven capabilities of MacGregor's offshore cranes add to this flexibility."
MAC is a private shareholding company with offices in Dubai and Singapore. It specialises in newbuild offshore support vessels for the oil and gas industries and currently has over 20 new build vessels under its management and control.
