RS holds leading position at global market of gas carriers’ classification – Mikhail Aivazov (photo)
As of today, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping holds a leading position among the classification societies in terms of building gas carrying tankers, IAA PortNews journalist cites Mikhail Aivazov, Director General of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, as saying at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2013.
“The Register is one of the national centers of competence in the sphere of maritime transportation of gas. For the first time, the Register’s Regulations on classification and construction of gas carriers were developed in 1985 and today they are kept up to the state of the art,” said Aivazov.
