NOVATEK launches first phase of Ust-Luga Complex
The first phase of NOVATEK’s Ust-Luga Complex was launched on June 19, 2013, IAA PortNews journalist reports.
Stable gas condensate comes to Ust-Luga from Purovsky gas condensate processing plant located in close proximity to the East-Tarkosalinskoye field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. It is then It is then processed in the port into light and heavy naphtha, jet fuel, ship fuel or LPG.
The first phase of the Complex with the annual capacity of 3 mln tonnes provides for transshipment of the above products from one berth. The second phase (with the same capacity of 3 mln tonnes) implies the launch of the second berth.
NOVATEK production complex in Ust-Luga comprises the facilities on fractionation and transshipment of stable gas condensate. When the complex is fully operational, it will be able to process up to 6 mln t of SGC and to produce naphta, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and furnace oil.

Founded in 1994, the Company is engaged in the exploration, production, processing and marketing of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. The Company’s upstream activities are concentrated in the prolific Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region, which is the world’s largest natural gas producing area and accounts for approximately 90% of Russia’s natural gas production and approximately 17% of the world’s gas production.
