Philadelphia’s Navy Yard provides local presence for BMT
BMT Syntek Technologies (BMT) has announced the opening of its Philadelphia office in the heart of the Navy Yard, which is home to more than 130 companies and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Ship Systems Engineering Station (NAVSSES), said in the company's press release.
For the past 20 years, BMT has equipped R&D decision makers with focused, powerful insights on programs and technology. Specific areas of expertise include integrated electrical power and control systems designed for maritime applications; system level analytical tools to assess system capabilities, tradeoffs and investment strategies; program information assurance and program-specific IT applications.
Syntek Philly 2Situated within the Commandant’s Building, the new office includes a comprehensive hardware prototyping laboratory dedicated to electrical and electronic development - from concept and requirements development to system design and analysis. This facility will provide the capability to demonstrate prototype technologies through successful proof-of-principle (POP) hardware, leading to next generation developments by Navy and commercial customers. The laboratory also has modelling and simulation capabilities to assess system performance and investigate particular aspects of electrical systems.
Syntek Philly 3Jim Davis, President of BMT Syntek Technologies comments: “Our staff have built up a wealth of expertise in hull, mechanical and electrical components, particularly electrical systems and advanced electrical machinery and we continue to work in collaboration with NAVSSES in pursuit of the latest technical developments. The Philadelphia office will allow us to provide a local presence to NAVSSES personnel, which in turn will increase the strength of our collaboration and support moving forward.”
Jim continues: “This is an exciting time for the company and over the next three years we will certainly be looking to expand in terms of capacity and capability. We are very much committed to providing niche expertise directly to NAVSSES and through teaming partners in support of both current and developing naval platforms – the Philadelphia office takes us one step closer to achieving this.
