Coal terminal project obtained approvals – Head of Murmansk Region
The project on the construction of coal terminal within the framework of the Comprehensive development of Murmansk Transportation Hub has undergone all necessary approvals and expertise. According to the press center of Murmansk regional government, this was announced by Murmansk Governor Marina Kovtun in her report on about government activities in 2012 to Murmansk Duma (regional parliament).
“The project documentation for the construction of railway line linking Vykhodnoy and Lavna as well as for the development of the Kola Bay water area has obtained approval of ecological experts. The major Russian expert agency Glavgosekspertiza is expected to approve the project by the end of 2013. In case of favorable development situation the investors will be able to start construction works in 2014,” Marina Kovtun said.
The Governor also reminded that FSUE Rosmorport had commenced reconstruction of the pier for long-distance lines within the framework of the project “Arctic Harbour” aimed at the development of passenger maritime transport infrastructure. The pier is to be put into operation in March 2014.
Besides, the project on renovation of the passengers terminal is being adjusted now. The aim is to expand it with the infrastructure facilities necessary for acceptance of foreign tourists. Active work is also under way to put Murmansk on the list of Russian cities that allow 72 visa-free entry for foreign tourists.
