Vostochny Port puts into operation 16-tonne portal crane Aist
In June 2013, new fully-slewing electrical crane Aist with the capacity of 16 tonnes at the grab mode range of 8 - 36 meters was put into operation at PPK-1 of Vostochny Port OJSC, press center of Vostochny Port says.
The crane is installed at the territory of berth No14. It will participate in both unloading of arriving wagons and in loading of vessels.
The crane was produced by a famous manufacturer of portal cranes – SevMorMontazh CJSC (SMM, St. Petersburg) which has gained a good reputation due to earlier supplied crane Vityaz currently being used at berth No12 of PPK-1 for export shipment of Russian coal.
Aist is equipped with a state-of-the-art control system.
The introduction of the new crane is carried out within the framework of the programme on port throughput increase being implemented by the Managing Port Company LLC and Vostochny Port OJSC. The programme envisages the increase of PPK-1 throughput from 3.5 to 6 mln t of coal per year. For that purpose, new grounds for storing of export coal are under construction at the rear zone of berths No 13 and No 14. Besides, new railway lines and crane runways are to be built to increase wagon handling. The designing of new railway lines and crane runways is to be completed in the forth quarter of 2013.
The construction of the third phase of Vostochny Port commenced in late 2012.
