Star Cruises to commence Kota Kinabalu homeport deployment from Nov 6 To March 30, 2014
Asia-Pacific's leading cruise line, Star Cruises, will commence its Kota Kinabalu homeport deployment from Nov 6 to March 30 next year, said in the company's press release.
Its vice president for East Malaysia operations, Edward Johann Leong, said the cruise line will use its 51,309-tonnage SuperStar Aquarius to commence seasonal homeport deployment.
"Putting a cruise ship here is an effort to entice tourists to come to Sabah," he said at a press conference here today.
Leong said Star Cruises will be offering a four-day and three-night cruise from Kota Kinabalu to Bandar Seri Begawan and Bintulu at RM1,200.
Sabah Tourist, Culture and Environment Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun, suggested that the cruise line showcased Sabah products, handicrafts, cultural performances and video presentations on board their ships.
He said the state government welcomed all kinds of avenues to promote Sabah to the world.
