Transfer of vessels to Russian flag should not be done by administrative methods – Dmitry Medvedev
The Marine Board under the Government of the Russian Federation is concerned about the registration of new vessels under “convenient flags”, it appears from the Board meeting broadcast. According to Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the RF Government, this problem cannot be solved by administrative measures, as the global competition is involved here and shipping companies have to meet it. “There should be created corresponding conditions comparable to those in other countries,” Medvedev said. He warned the Deputy Chairman of the Government against handling this problem by orders, violating the ongoing contracts or their commercial parts. “Rattling the saber is not applicable here,” emphasized Medvedev.
