Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port up 35% to 1.895 mln t Jan-May’13
In January-May 2013, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port handled 1.895 mln t of cargo (+35%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.
In the accounting period, export volume climbed 16% to 1.172 mln t including 974,100 tonnes of dry cargo (+17%), 837,900 tonnes of general cargo (+20%) and 198,6oo tones of liquid bulk cargo (+10%). In the 5-month period, Import surged 1.8 times to 717,900 tonnes.
In January-May, container throughput fell 44% to 5,298 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2012, the port’s throughput fell by 3.31%, year-on-year, to 3.31 mln tonnes.
