Kapitan Dranitsyn icebreaker took part in searching of "the sunk vessel injured crewmembers" (photo)
The Kapitan Dranitsyn Icebreaker of the Murmansk Branch within the helding Barents-2013 Exercise took part in searching of "the sunk vessel injured crewmembers" according to the legend, as well as in simulated ecological accident management, Rosmorport says in its press release.
During the exercise 16 dummies imitating suffering distress crewmembers of the sunk vessel were found and taken off the water by the Russian vessels and 4 dummies – by the Norwegian ones. The work experiance of the Kapitan Dranitsyn Icebreaker crewmembers, as well as the height of its captain's bridge let them become the first to find 6 dummies over a distance of 2.5 sea miles. The other vessel were able to find dummies only over of distance of 1 to 1.5 sea miles.
After the finishing of the searching works at the exercise area the helicopter of the North Norway joined rescue coordinating center exercised deboarding of 7 dummies at the the Kapitan Dranitsyn Icebreaker landing site in order to train the skiils in providing the medical assistance to the nominally injured people.
The participants reviewed the exercise results on the board of the Norvay Coast Guard «KV SENJA» vessel. They emphasized the crews concerted efforts while execising the coordination skills during the search and resque sea operation.
After performing its mission the Kapitan Dranitsyn Icebreaker went to its home port and on 6 June 2013 stood down at the anchorage at Murmansk Seaport.
