FESCO adds port Izmir to its Black Sea Shuttle service
FESCO Transportation Group commences transportation of perishable cargo in refrigerated containers having added the port of Izmir (Turkey) to its Black Sea Shuttle service (FBSS), FESCO press center says.
The expansion of FBSS (earlier linking Russian ports of Sochi and Novorossiysk with Istanbul alone) will now allow FESCO increase both export and import transportation of containers and to start transportation of refrigerated containers from Turkey to Russia.
Total volume of cargo exported from and imported to Russia from Turkey via Izmir in 2012 amounted to 2,686 and 9,057 TEUs respectively .
In early 2014, FESCO Group plans to further expand FBSS service with adding the third Turkish port of call - Mersin. The second container carrier will be deployed to support weekly service of the line.
