Throughput of Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny (Ukraine) up 10.2% to 9.98 mln t Jan-May’13
In January-May 2013, Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 9.98 mln t of cargo (+10.2%, year-on-year), the stevedore’s press center announced.
The volume of transit cargo totaled 3,618,200 toones (+1.3 %, year-on-year).
Ore cargo accounts for the largest share in total throughput – 5,286,700 tonnes.
In the 5-month period, the port handled 363 vessels and 83,346 wagons.
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port’s approach channel is 3 miles long and 14 meters deep. In 2012, throughput of the port’s stevedoring company Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny totaled 22.72 mln t.
