Container throughput of Transiidikeskuse terminal (Estonia) up 8% to 105,100 TEUs Jan-May’13
In January-May, 2013, Transiidikeskuse container terminal (Muuga, Estonia) handled 105,116 TEUs (+8%, year-on-year), the company states. In May the terminal handled 20,451 TEUs (+1%).
In the middle of the past month Transiidikeskuse concern embarked on the expansion of its container terminal in Muuga.
According to Erik Laidvee, Chairman of Transiidikeskuse Board, Production facilities of the new terminal will make it possible to implement the development strategy through 2028. “The coming five years will see 10-pct growth of container throughput. This year, the container throughput will reach 260,000 TEUs, next year – about 285,000 TEUs, then – 300,000 TEUs,” Erik Laidvee added.
In January-May, the terminal’s total turnover of general and refrigerated cargo made 1,087,397 tonnes.
