Dmitry Yermakov takes post of Yantar Shipyard’s Acting Director General
Dmitry Yermakov, Chief Engineer of Baltic Shipbuilding Plant “Yantar” has been appointed Acting Director General of Yantar Shipyard. According to the company’s press center, the Plan’s former Acting Director General Aleksandr Konovalov was relieved of his post from June 1, 2013, because of his transfer to a different enterprise of the United Shipbuilding Corporation – Baltiysky Zavod-Sudostroyeniye LLC (St. Petersburg) as Deputy Director for Production. He was appointed Acting Director General of Yantar Shipyard on June 23, 2011 by the decision of the Plant’s BoD.
Kaliningrad-based Baltic Shipbuilding Plant “Yantar” was founded on July 8, 1945 on the basis of a Koenigsberg unit of German’s Schichau Werft. Yantar Shipyard specializes in building and repairs of warships and civil boats. Throughout the years the Shipyard has built 154 warships and more than 500 merchant vessels. The Russian Government holds the majority stake in the shipbuilding firm through Western Center of Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of the state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation.
