Throughput of First Container Terminal (St. Petersburg) up 6.8% to 92,150 TEUs in May’13
In May, 2013, First Container Terminal CJSC handled 92,150 TEUs (+6.8%, year-on-year), National Container Company says in its press release.
Import cargo accounted for 53% of total cargo turnover, the volume of refrigerated containers reached 8,911 TEUs.
In the accounting period, 106 calls were registered at the terminal (against 72 calls in May 2012).
In May the terminal started handling vessels of feeder service Green Alliance (Yang Ming / Hanjin / COSCO).
First Container Terminal CJSC is the leader of container handling among the terminals in Russia and the Baltic Sea Region. FCT is linked to the largest European ports by means of an extensive feeder network - Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Antwerp. The Terminal’s total area is 89 ha, quay length (operational / total) – 780 m/1,058 m, depth alongside berth – 11.5 m, yard storage capacity – 31,000 TEUs, reefer storage capacity – 2,900 plugs, throughput capacity – 1.35 mln TEUs per year.
