Lenenergo provides 14 MVA to SIBUR complex handling LPG in Ust-Luga
Lenenergo OJSC has provided 13,900 kVA to the complex of SIBUR-Portenergo (SIBUR HOLDING subsidiary) handling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and light oil products at Ust-Luga port, the energy company says in its release. The power will be supplied from Lenenergo substation 549 “Port”.
Lenenergo specialists have developed technical specifications for connection of Ust-Luga terminal to the energy network. 12 substations (10/0.4 kW) equipped with modern microprocessing protection built for that purpose. Total transformer power exceeds 27 MVA.
Besides, two 10 kW aerial lines with total length of four km as well as four 10 kW cable lines of the same length were built. Part of cable lines runs under А-121 highway (St. Petersburg-Sortavala). To improve supply security special cable canals were built there.
This pre-installed electric power capacity will ensure reliable operation of fuel handling and processing equipment.
In winter 2013, Lenenergo completed a part of the project on reinforcement of power supply network at Ust-Luga port and on creation of power reserve for connection of new consumers. All in all, Lenenergo is to invest RUB 1.5 bln into the project.
SIBUR-Portenergo embarked on the construction of LPG terminal at Ust-Luga port in May 2010. Its design capacity is up to 1.5 mln t of LPG and 2.5 mln t of light oil products per year. The complex is located in the Leningrad region within the water area of Ust-Luga port (southern part of Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland). It is intended for acceptance of LPG and light oil products from tank wagons, their storage and further shipment by gas carriers and tankers.
