Port of Amsterdam displays achievements at World Biomass Power Markets 2013
From 15-17 May 2013 the World Biomass Power Markets 2013 took place in Amsterdam. Together with the port community Port of Amsterdam represented the 4th port of Europe by means of a splendid 'World Biomass meets Port of Amsterdam' stand, an exploratory port tour and a presentation regarding the financial feasibility of biomass projects held by Lex de Ridder, Cluster Manager Energy, Port of Amsterdam, the Port Authority press release said.
On May 156h forty relations joined in on the 2.5 hour port tour. It turned out to be an excellent opportunity to bring Amsterdam's port facilities to the attention and carry out some high-quality networking. Also during the conference existing contracts were maintained and new ones were made. The conference served as a good 'market indicator'. Informing visitors about the business issues and opportunities which will be at play in the near future.
The Port of Amsterdam is able to handle biomass that remains a promising transshipment market with a strong development capability. The project is supported by the National Economic Development Council (NEDC).
