Don Cassens Shipbuilders puts into operation M/V Narva, lead oil сarrier of RST05 project (photo)
On May 17, 2013, Don Cassens Shipbuilders put into operation M/V Narva, lead oil vessel of RST05 project with sea/river deadweight of 2,865/3,952 tonnes, Marine Engineering Bureau informs.
The series of two river-sea sailing vessels was ordered by AzovTransTerminal LLC for Donbunker LLC.
Vessels of RST05 project are intended for mixed (river-sea) transportation of crude and oil products including gasoline without flash-point limits. Such vessels can transport two types of cargo simultaneously.
The vessels fit the dimensions of the Volga-Don Ship Canal and Volga-Baltic Waterway. The vessel is 118.87 m long, its breadth is – 13.0 m, depth – 5.8 m.
Capacity of eight cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 4,427 cubic meters, operating speed – 10.0 knots.
The project’s lead vessel Narva was laid down on April 28, 2011 and launched on October 13, 2012.
The second vessel of the series, M/V Istra, was laid down on April 28, 2011 and is under construction now.
Don Cassens Shipbuilders LLC is a joint venture founded in 1995 to the initiative and by Volga-Don Shipping Company and Cassens Werft GmbH (Germany). It is located on the left bank of Aksai river (Don tributary). In March 2002, Johannes Tillmann GmbH&Co.KG joined the group of shareholders.
