On May 7, 2013, first 20,000 tonnes of diesel fuel was loaded to tanker SEASHARK at berth No 1 of Rosneftbunker terminal in Ust-Luga port, the company’s press center informs.
This loading is reportedly the start of the programme on handling light oil products at Rosneftbunker terminal which earlier handled only dark oil products (difficult types of heavy fuel oil).
“Less than 3 weeks ago we announced the beginning of test operations with light oil products: on April 18, 2013 the terminal accepted the first train with diesel fuel. The handling of the first tanker was scheduled for May and this happened according to the plan. Handling light oil products implies higher ecological, industrial and fire protection requirements with consistent high quality service,” said Konstantin Khamlai, Director General of Rosneftbunker.
Rosneftbunker OJSC is the owner and operator of oil product terminal in the port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s design capacity is 30 mln t per year (20 mln t of dark oil products and 10 mln t of light oil products). The fully developed light oil product tank farm will comprise 11 reservoirs with total capacity of 330,000 cubic meters. Two berths can be used for transshipment of light oil products to tankers with deadweight of up to 166,000 tonnes.
