Rosterminalugol coal traffic hits 4 million tonnes
Year-to-date coal shipments through the Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol terminal have totaled 4 million tonnes. The milestone tonne was loaded onto the M/V Alppila on April 25th, the company’s press release said.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual coal throughput is 8 million tons. The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for cargoes and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal is able to accommodate 240-m-long, 32.2-m-wide vessels. In 2012, coal exports via the terminal rose 26% year-over-year to 13.76 million metric tons.
