DP World participates in Careers UAE 2013
DP World announced today (28 April) its participation in the leading recruitment, training and education exhibition, Careers UAE 2013, said in the company's press release. The leading globa l marine terminal operator is looking for talented UAE nationals at the event, held for the 13th year under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice - President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from April 30 t o May 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Through its participation, DP World will continue its efforts to attract UAE nationals interested in joining the company and introduce them to departments across the business, locally and globally. At a dedicated pavilion at the Careers Fair (Stand A7 - 9) , the company will brief applicants on potential job opportunities, particularly in technology and familiarise them with operations. At its stand, DP World also will showcase scaled models of a ship - to - shore (STS) q uay crane and rail mounted gantry crane (RMG) made by Emirati talent from the Technical Department at DP World, UAE Region.

Our programmes have increased the percentage of national emplo yees within our UAE Region with around 90% of our leadership team and 7 0% of senior management of national o rigin. With the current expansion of Jebel Ali Port, around 1000 new jobs will be created at the new Container Terminal 3, which we hope will attract Emirati candidates. We remain focussed on attracting qualified national professionals and to enhance the capabilities of our current UAE national employees." DP World has signed MOUs with various UAE organ isations, Government departments, colleges and institutes to train and sponsor Emirati students as well as to work on recruiting unemployed UAE National job seekers. The Absher initiative to enhance the participation of Emirati citizens' involvement in t he local labour market was launched under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
