Rosmorport FSUE and port Ghent (Belgium) sign Memorandum of Understanding (photo)
FSUE Rosmorport and port Ghent (Belgium) signed Memorandum of Understanding on April 23, 2013, IAA PortNews learnt from Irina Lobkova, press secretary of the state enterprise.
Major areas of cooperation within MoU framework will include exchange of experience in the sphere of safe navigation, implementation of port infrastructure development projects, application of advanced technologies in seaport management; attraction of investments into port infrastructure; creation of new business opportunities and support of existing business relations of private companies involved in maritime trade between Belgium and the Russian Federation; improvement of energy efficiency of port facilities and introduction of renewable energy sources; development of educational programmes for higher qualification and retraining of Russian and Belgian experts.
The agreement to sign the Memorandum of Understanding was achieved in December 2012 in the course of Rosmorport representatives’ visit to Antwerp. Currently, FSUE Rosmorport develops international strategic partnership with the Port of Antwerp International, the Port of Rotterdam Authority (Netherlands) and Cargotec Oy (Finnish corporation). The agreements were signed in 2012. Besides, the enterprise actively cooperates with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Seaport Organization.
