Second boat of 14M Project built for RF Emergency Ministry launched at Laky Verf (photo)
Laky Verf LLC (Shlisselburg, Leningrad region) has launched the second boat of 14 M project, multipurpose boat Yury Yakhnenko, built to the state order. As IAA PortNews journalist reports, the boat is meant for the Activity Center of the Federal Fire-Fighting Service of RF Emergency Ministry’s State Fire-Fighting Service.
The grand ceremony was attended by Konstantin Buryanov, Director General of Laky Verf LLC, and customer’s representatives: Ilya Lyakhov, chief state inspector of RF Emergency Ministry on small-size vessels in St. Petersburg, and Aleksandr Radko, head of St. Petersburg center of State Inspection of Small Vehicles (RF Emergency Ministry).
The boat was launched in compliance with the Russian naval traditions with Olga Semenova, representative of St. Petersburg department of RF Emergency Ministry, as a godmother.
The project of multipurpose high-speed boats of 14М project is an improved continuation of 13М project developed by Laky Verf. As IAA PortNews learnt from Konstantin Buryanov, Director General of Laky Verf LLC, “this is a modification of a revised vessel built earlier and delivered to different regions of Russia, from the Far East to St. Petersburg”. The increased fuel capacity makes it possible to increase the cruising range.
“We have also increased the area on the aft up to 12 square meters to place additional rescue / diving / fire fighting equipment, - noted Konstantin Buryanov. – The engine room has been enlarged for improved and more comfortable servicing of engines”.
The boat has an additional operating station at the observation platform for manoeuvring under conditions of limited visibility. Besides, the boat is equipped with an inflatable motorboat to provide a possibility to reach beaches for rescue operations in shallow waters, as well as for other purposes, he added. There are also three additional rescue rafts for 10 persons each.
The vessel’s keel was laid down on December 1, 2012. In late May 2013 it is to be delivered to the customer. The shipyard plans to build 5 boats of the series by the end of 2013.
All in all Laky Verf will build 8 boats of this type in 2013 (6 boats of 14М project and 2 – of 13М project).
The customers are RF Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Ministry, Gosmorrechnadzor, Federal Customs Service.
Laky Verf is located at Nevsky Shipyard (Shlisselburg, Leningrad region) and has its own production facilities. From 2005 the company specializes in production of steel motor luxury yachts with exclusive design of the interior developed by the famous Dutch designers Guido de Groot and Frank Laupman. Since its foundation the company has built and transferred to the customers 6 yachts of 23M project. (длина 23,5 м), All 23.5-meter yachts successfully passed sea trials. The construction is supervised by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
