Throughput of Multipurpose Reloading Complex (Ust-Luga) up 6% to 742,000 t in QI'13
In January-March, 2013, throughput of Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC of Ust-Luga port (Leningrad region) totaled 742,000 tonnes (+6%, year-on-year), the company informs.
The positive dynamics is reportedly driven with the increased transshipment of coal, major cargo of MRC, by 21%, year-on-year, to 634,000 tonnes.
With the coal transshipment growth, the volume cast iron handled by the company fell by 42%, year-on-year, to 101,000 tonnes.
In the accounting period, the terminal handled 7,000 tonnes of manganese ore. This type of cargo was not handled in the first quarter of 2012.
In January-March, 2013, the terminal handled 735,000 tonnes of export cargo (+5%, year-on-year) and 7,000 tonnes of import cargo (was not handled in the first quarter of 2012).
Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (part of UCL Port – stevedoring division of international transport group UCL Holding) operates a cargo terminal at Ust-Luga port of the Leningrad region. It is focused on acceptance, storage and shipment general cargo and dry bulk cargo. In 2012, throughput of Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC amounted to 2.9 mln t.
