ASC proposes to apply PPP principles for ship utilization and fleet renovation
Association of Shipping Companies (ASC) elaborates offers on application of private-public partnership principles in projects on RF fleet renovation, in particular, through providing of ship owners with utilization grants for the construction of new fleet. As it is reported at the industry-focused portal Russian shipping, this was announced by Aleksey Klyavin at the International Conference “Northern Sea Route: state, problems, prospects” in St. Petersburg.
According to Aleksey Klyavin, the program will be focused on motivation of ship owners to utilize old vessels and build new fleet with application of innovative energy-saving technologies complying with the latest environmental requirements.
This, in its turn, will have a multiplicative effect with increased loading of national shipyards.
Earlier, Denis Manturov, Head of RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, confirmed the reasonability of this initiative.
