LNG bunkering hub to appear at Gulf of Bothnia (Finland) by 2016
LNG bunkering hub is planned to be built at the shore of the Gulf of Bothnia (Finland) by 2016, IAA PortNews journalist cites Tapani Stipa, representative of Baltic Institute of Finland, as saying at Alternative Fuel Conference in Helsinki arranged by Northern Dimension Partnership on Transport and Logistics.
According to Tapani Stipa, the terminal will not have a feeding pipeline – gas will be delivered by railway and distributed between the adjacent ports including Swedish ones by a small ice-class tanker. No icebreakers are supposed to be deployed.
