The Port of Long Beach and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers release Environmental Impact Report for new terminal
The Port of Long Beach and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have released the final Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report on a proposed construction aggregate, sand, gravel and granite import facility on privately owned land in the Harbor District. The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners is scheduled to consider certifying the EIR and approving the project at its April 15 board meeting, said in the port's press release.
The proposed project site on Pier D was formerly occupied by a aggregate-import terminal operated by Connolly-Pacific from 2000-2009. The site has been vacant since that operation shut down.
