Container throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port up 27.9% to 121,800 t in QI'13
In January-March, 2013, Odessa Commercial Sea Port handled at least 121,800 tonnes of containerized cargo, which is a surge of 27.9%, year-on-year, the port’s statistics says.
According to the statement, all the three months of this year demonstrate the growth of about 30%.
Current data of Odessa Commercial Sea Port show that in January-March 2013, the port handled over 5.8 mln t of cargo including 4.6 mln t of dry cargo (+220,000 tonnes, year-on-year) and 1.2 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (- 1.13 mln t).
In the accounting period, ore cargo boosted to over 800,000 tonnes.
Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow to handle more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2012, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port fell by 4.3%, year-on-year, to 24.5 mln tonnes.
