Lotos Shipyard (Astrakhan) launches ARK-11, second cargo pontoon of the series
On March 29, Lotos Shipyard (Astrakhan) launched the second pontoon of the series of three pontoons being build by the shipyard under the leasing scheme. The customer is Goznak-Leasing CJSC, the lessee and the ship owner – Shipping Company Ark LLC. According to the trade union of Astrakhan ship owners and ship repairers, the vessel was called ARK-11.
The vessel is classified with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and dedicated for transportation of on-deck loads.
The vessel’s major characteristics: cargo capacity – 3,000 tonnes, LOA – 85.20, hull beam – 16.50 m. depth – 4.50 m, light-ship displacement – 985.0 tonnes, light-ship average draught – 0.81m, load-line displacement – 4,209 tonnes, load-line draught – 3.11 m.
Astrakhan-based Lotos Shipyard specializes in the construction of hulls for different vessels and there complete fitting. The shipbuilding company’s major stockholders are United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Caspian Energy Group (CNRG) and the Astrakhan regional government. Since 2012 the shipbuilding company has been under control of USC.
