RF Government approves state program “Socio-economic development of Kaliningrad region till 2020”
Russian Government has approved the state program “Socio-economic development of the Kaliningrad region till 2020”.
According to the press center of Russia’s supreme executive body, the document was elaborated by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation. The state program is aimed at facilitating a comprehensive socio-economic development of the Kaliningrad region, improvement of the region’s investment attractiveness, general promotion of economic growth priorities, establishment of new manufactures, development of new industrial clusters and tourism.
The state program comprises three subprograms:
«Development of the priority economic sectors in the Kaliningrad region»;
«Development of the Kaliningrad region as a cultural and tourist center»;
«Providing implementation of the state program “Socio-economic development of the Kaliningrad region till 2020”».
The aim of the sate program is to ensure sustainable socio-economic development of the Kaliningrad region which is to be achieved through the following activities:
basic infrastructure development in the region;
development of the region’s competitive economic sectors;
improvement of the population’s life standards and quality;
development of tourism and improvement of the population’s mobility.
The program implementation is scheduled for 2013–2020.
The program’s objective fulfillment will ensure dynamic socio-economic development of the Kaliningrad region, will make it possible to upgrade the region’s engineering, transport and social infrastructure, and will also facilitate the development of the region’s priority sectors of economy and improvement of the population’s life quality.
