Qatargas participates in IPTC in Beijing
Qatargas is participating as a key sponsor in the 6th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), Beijing, China from 26 - 28 March, said in the company's press release.
Being organised under the theme 'Challenging Technology and Economic Limits to Meet the Global Energy Demand', the event addresses technology and relevant industry issues that challenge industry professionals and management around the world.
The Qatargas delegation to the event is led by the Company's Chief Operating Officer - Administration, Ghanim Al-Kuwari.
As a key industry event, Qatargas' participation in this conference is important as it provides a platform to discuss and share perspectives on current and future industry topics, exchange knowledge and enables us to benefit from the expertise and capabilities of the participating countries and organizations. The event also provides excellent networking opportunities with industry peers from across the global LNG value chain.
An exhibition is also being held on the sidelines of the conference, in which Qatargas is participating as part of the Qatar Petroleum pavilion. Visitors will be able to receive first-hand information regarding Qatargas and its activities from Qatargas personnel at the stand.
The People's Republic of China is a key market for Qatargas. Qatargas has existing long-term sales and purchase agreements with China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and PetroChina. The first cargo of LNG from Qatargas to China was delivered in 2009.
The International Petroleum Technology Conference, held annually was founded in 2005. The event rotates between Doha and venues in the Asia Pacific region. Next year, Doha will host IPTC 2014 from 20-22 January. Qatargas will be a key sponsor of the event hosted by Qatar Petroleum.
