Krasnoye Sormovo to build more tankers for Turkmenistan
Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (member of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) in association with MNP Group has signed a contract with the State Service of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan for construction of two tankers of project 19900 with deadweight of 7,100 tonnes. According to the press center of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, the vessels will be delivered to the customer in November 2013 and May 2014, the latest.
Krasnoye Sormovo has already built four oil tankers for the Turkmen merchant marine fleet. They are engaged in crude and oil product transportation in the Caspian basin. The Hazar, Sumbar and Jeyhun tankers were built in 2009-2010, and the Etrek tanker of project 19900 was delivered in May 2012.
The project was designed at Volga-Caspian Design Bureau for crude and oil product transportation in compliance with all special and environment requirements of the global oil companies.
The tanker is classified by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping as KM*Icel [1] R2 AUT1- ICS OMBO LI VCS Oil Tanker (ESP).

Depth - 6.82 m;
DWT in salt water - about 7,100 tonnes with 4.6m draft, in fresh water – 4,700 tonnes with 3.6m draft. Capacity of cargo tanks and slop tanks – 8,000 cbm.
Operational speed - 10.5 knots.
Krasnoye Sormovo OJSC is one of Russia's oldest shipyards. It was founded in 1849. In 2011, it entered the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The shipyard is Russia’s leader in construction of civil river and sea-and-river going vessels.

Within the frameworks of implementation of innovative projects initiated by the Leader of the nation on creation of domestic water transport meeting the world level, the marine fleet of the country was increased within 2009-2010 by three up-to-date tankers: “Hazar”, “Sumbar”, “Jeyhun” of carrying capacity 7 thousand tons built in the shipyards of one of the largest ship-building enterprises – “Krasnoye Sormovo” in Nizhniy Novgorod (the Russian Federation). The tankers are equipped with the newest technical facilities and equipment which meet the ecological safety norms and are capable to transport six kinds of oil products simultaneously.
