Icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov completes its operation in La Perouse Strait (photo)
The Kapitan Khlebnikov, icebreaker of OJSC Far Eastern Shipping Company, has completed its work at the approaches to Prigorodnoye port under Sakhalin-2 project and arrived in its home port of Vladivostok, press center of FESCO Group informs.
The Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker was time-chartered by Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. on February 2 for assisting large capacity tankers and gas carriers on their way to/from the export oil and gas terminal Prigorodnoye in the Aniva bay (South of Sakhalin).
Having completed its assistance of the winter navigation, the icebreaker put away towards Vladivostok on March 22 and upon her arrival to the Vladivostok roads on March 24, the Kapitan Khlebnikov left the time-charter of Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd.
When in the home port, the icebreaker will undergo a set of preparatory activities before routine dock repairs scheduled for early May.
