OOCL announces the naming of the OOCL Memphis in Shanghai today, the newest 8,888 TEU vessel to join our fleet for the Super Shuttle Express (SSX) service on the Trans-Pacific trade, connecting Asian and North American markets, said in the company's press release.
In his ceremonial address, Mr. Andy Tung, Chief Executive Officer of OOCL, thanked everyone for their support and expressed his gratitude to Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. for the successful fourth delivery of another efficient vessel. “The OOCL Memphis can not only help lower energy consumption levels but also reduce emissions to improve our environment,” said Mr. Tung. “We look forward to continue working with Hudong-Zhonghua in embracing new technologies and designs that would help support our objectives to boost vessel performance, reduce our impact on the environment, and meeting the needs of our customers.”
