Sakhalinugol’s investment project implying modernization of Shakhtersky port may become a priority in 2013
Investment project of MC Sakhalinugol LLC implying the modernization of Udarnovskaya mine and Shakhtersky port as well as expansion of Solntsevsky surface mine may obtain a status of a priority project in 2013, press center of Sakhalin regional government informs.
The same status may be given to the project on construction of cargo and passenger transport service centers in Nogliki and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
It should be noted that within the framework of the long-term special-purpose program “Development of Sakhalin region’s investment potential in 2011-2018” the construction has been completed at 4 sites including the pier in Krabovaya Bay on Shikotan and a processing complex in Ozerskoye settlement of Korsakov district.
MC Sakhalinugol LLC is the largest producer of thermal coal in the Sakhalin region. In 2011, the production reached 1.85 mln t. The company comprises 4 coal mining and 2 service companies: Sakhalinugol-2 LLC — Solntsevsky surface coal mine, Sakhalinugol-6 LLC — Udarnovskaya mine, Boshnyakovski surface coal mine LLC, Sakhalinugol-7 LLC — Poronaysky surface coal mine, Obogatitelnaya fabrika LLC and Vzryvprom LLC.
