Over 20,000 tons of cargo for port Sabetta to be unloaded to shore ice in 2013
More than 120,000 tons of different cargo are to be delivered for the construction of port Sabetta (Yamal peninsula, the Gulf of Ob) including over 20,000 tons of metal and reinforced concrete structures to be unloaded to the shore ice from April 2013. The rest of the cargo including inert materials and general cargo will be delivered during the short navigation period (July-August), PortNews IAA learnt from the players at the market of project and outsize cargo transportation in the Arctic region.
The current general contractor of such transportations is Mezhregiontruboprovodstroi OJSC. In 2012, the company arranged transportation of over 100,000 cubic meters of inert materials and some 50,000-70,000 freight units of general cargo and metal structures from port Sergino (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area) to Sabetta construction site.
The deliveries do not cease in winter. Some 7,000 tons of cargo was transported from Labytnangi via Bovanenkovo by winter road.
During the summer navigation of 2013, it is planned to deliver about 100,000 tons of freight units to the construction site of port Sabetta.
