Passenger vessel Georg Ots will be retrofitted to meet international requirements
Georg Ots ferry is now being retrofitted by Asia Pacific Dockyard in the port of Zhoushan (China) in order to bring the vessel into compliance with the international requirements, press center of the Primorsk Territory Administration refers to TSUE Gosnedvizhimost.
As of today, the ferry does not meet the requirements of international conventions, therefore it is provided with the documents of the national classification society not permitting international shipping. Upon completion of the modernization and obtaining of the required documents the vessel can be deployed for international maritime transportation.
By the order of the Primorsk territorial authority of Federal Property Management Agency (No 720-р dated 25.10.2010 and No62 dated 04.02.2011) the vessel was transferred to the ownership of the Primorsk Territory. By the decree of the Department of Property Relations on the basis of economic control rights the vessel is attached to TSUE Gosnedvizhimost. The ferry participated in the events within the framework of the APEC summit held in Vladivostok in August – September 2012. Upon the results of the auction held in December 2012 the vessel was leased out to Tehnomarin LLC for a 2-year period. The modernization is being financed by the lease holder.
