Rosmorport’s ship rescues fishermen in the Gulf of Finland
The Rosmorport owned icebreaker Captain Plakhin (Russia flag, home port - St. Petersburg) has rescued 20 fishermen from drifting ice floes in the Gulf, the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre of Russia’s Transport Ministry said. The fishermen were spotted in the Luga Bay on March 6, 2013.
The Captain Plakhin has taken the fishermen on board early this morning. The men have been safely evacuated to the port of Ust-Luga and handed over to the border guard authorities.
The regional Northwest branch of Emergencies Ministry said it had engaged a speedboat “Airboat" and two ACVs "Hivus" in the fishermen rescue.
