Port Vysotsky stevedore’s two-month throughput soars 66.9% to 703,430 mt
In January-February this year, LLC Port Vysotsky, a stevedore operating at the port of Vysotsky handled 703,430 tonnes of thermal coal, a 66.9-percent surge on the same period a year before, the company said.
This February, coal shipments through the coal terminal of LLC Port Vysotsky totaled 308.07 thousand tonnes.
LLC Port Vysotsky specializes in handling of Russian coal exported to Western Europe. In 2012, coal throughput at Port Vysotsky rose 2.9% year-over-year to 3,295,727 metric tons. In December 2011, Port Vysotsky completed dredging project deepening the harbor and approach channel to 12.7 meters. The channel has now 200 meters in width. Maximum draft of vessels was increased from 9,3 m to 11,9 m. This enables access of 45,000DWT bulkers to the coal terminal.
