Stevedoring companies of UCL Port increased annual throughput by 2% to 32.6 mln t
In 2012, stevedoring division of UCL Port (part of UCL Holding) handled 32.6 mln tons of cargo, which is a 2-pct gain against the previous year, press center of UCL Holding reports.
In the reported period, the main part of the total cargo flow fell on dry cargo – 22.2 mln t (+21% year-on-year) with handling of liquid bulk cargo decreased to 10.4 mln t (-23%).
The volume export cargo fell by 2% to 27.6 mln t, import cargo flow grew by 33% to 4.8 mln t, handling of coastal trade cargo decreased by 32% to 176,000 tons.
The results of OJSC Sea Port St. Petersburg (cargo districts No 1, 2 and 3 of Big Port St. Petersburg) climbed 18% to 8.7 mln t.
Throughput of CJSC Container Terminal Saint Petersburg (4th cargo district of port of Big Port St. Petersburg) boosted by 72%, year-on-year, to 2.1 mln t.
The volume handled by Universal Handling Terminal LLC (Ust-Luga) totaled 2.9 mln t, up 21% , year-on-year.
OJSC Tuapse Commercial Seaport decreased its results by 13% to 16.4 mln t in 2012.
Throughput of OJSC Taganrog Commercial Seaport grew by 7% to 1.5 mln t.
According to the press release, the decrease of TCSP is explained by redistribution of export flows of oil cargo and deficient capacity of North-Caucasus Railway due to huge deliveries of Olympic cargoes towards Sochi. Besides, the throughput decrease was also caused by restrictions imposed on long motor transport at the federal highway М-27 (Dzhubga-Adler).
